LOEWE x Baskets

At this year’s LOEWE installation at Milan Design Week, the Spanish house launches LOEWE Baskets: an exhibition of basketry, hand quilting and calligraphy that celebrates one of the brand’s most celebrated pieces. For this series, LOEWE collaborated with 11 artists from Japan, US, South Africa and Ireland who engaged in different styles of leather weaving for the exhibition. Artists applied leather making techniques to craft decorative objects for the home, including ornaments, boxing, quilts and organic materials like stone weights.

The installation is located inside a courtyard next to the LOEWE flagship on Monte Napoleone, where the eye-catching entryway is merchandised le souk style, with multi-sized baskets hanging throughout over the archways. The baskets are exclusively created as one-off works available for purchase during Salone.

The installation and art objects will only be available from April 8-14 at Via Montenapoleone 21, Milan.
