Maybelline debuts new beauty backstage at New York Fashion Week

Maybelline is backstage at some of the shows at New York Fashion Week which has just kicked off with plenty of hot shows to see yet.

The American beauty brand created the looks for Jason Wu, and the team will be working their magic at Christian Siriano and Alice + Olivia later in the week.

Creating sunkissed freckles for Wu (and showing how it’s done, below), it seems that the MUAs are trialling two new beauty pieces during the fashion week that kicks them all off.

Maybelline is a famous brand for lash and brow products, and never to miss a hot new trend they are debuting a new product at New York Fashion Week that challenges laminated brows.

Maybelline Brow Fast Sculpt, a new fast-acting brow gel that you use a spoolie to run through the brows for that ‘lifted’ hair look.

It will come in a clear shade plus seven colours; light blonde, blonde, soft brown, medium brown, warm brown, deep brown, and black. But that’s not all they are using.

The brand’s Cheek Heat blusher collection is expanding from three to six shades. The award-winning cheek colour was a surprise hit when it launched last year, but yet again, Maybelline was timely with its launch because blusher is having a moment.

Even before the pandemic, cheek colour was tipped to be a big seasonal trend, now that face masks are part of our lives even backstage at New York Fashion Week, it’s just going to get bigger and higher, even bleeding into the eye makeup.

In the new cheek colour line is the shade 20 Rose Flush which is a very pretty pink, the other shades will range from coral to berry.

The new beauty is believed to launch Stateside in November, we imagine that might mean an early 2021 arrival for us here, we’ll update when we know more.

Until then, let’s keep an eye on the shows at New York Fashion Week and beyond, there might be some cool brows and pretty pink cheeks on show.
