Iceland Innovation Week 2024 recently took place from May 13th to 17th in Reykjavík, Iceland, at the Kolaportið and Hafnartorg venues. The EU Delegation actively participated in the conference, hosting a side event on EU funding opportunities for Icelandic innovative companies and entrepreneurs.
During the event at Kolaportið, the EU Delegation informed guests about the various opportunities available to Icelandic startups and innovators through EU programs and innovation funds. The EU Ambassador to Iceland, Lucie Samcová-Hall Allen, joined a panel discussion on EU policies related to innovation and public and private investments.
Another highlight of the event was a breakfast side-event titled “Wanna Have Fun(ds)? 2.0”, where representatives from three Icelandic companies shared their experiences of utilizing EU funding to advance their products and research. This event emphasized the benefits and possibilities for Icelandic companies and entrepreneurs through EU programs and investment funds.
The EU Delegation expressed gratitude to the participants, including Sveinn Aðalsteinsson, CEO of Orkídeu; Jónas R. Viðarsson, Director at Matís; and Ester Ósk Pálsdóttir, Project Coordinator at Thor Ice Chilling Solutions, for their valuable contributions to the successful event. They also thanked the festival organizers and guests of Iceland Innovation Week 2024.
Looking ahead, the Delegation is already anticipating the next Iceland Innovation Week and the opportunities it will bring.
