Having earned her Bachelor’s degree in journalism in May 2023, Hernandez has cultivated a comprehensive skill set that encompasses various facets of reporting. Her tenure at The University Star, Texas State’s acclaimed student-run newspaper, allowed her to explore multiple roles within the publication. Over the course of three years, she served as a life and arts reporter, life and arts editor, and ultimately, managing editor. This hands-on experience has equipped her with the tools necessary to engage the diverse interests of the community.
In addition to her background in arts and culture, Hernandez has also gained valuable experience in health reporting during her internship at Texas Community Health News, affiliated with Texas Public Radio in San Antonio.
