Manning Regional Healthcare Center Welcomes New Nurse Practitioner to Family Practice Clinic
Manning, Iowa – Manning Regional Healthcare Center (MRHC) has announced the addition of Melissa Frazier, a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), to its Family Practice Clinic, with her first appointments scheduled to begin in September. This strategic hire aims to enhance patient care and expand health services available to the local community.
Shannon Black, the Chief Executive Officer of MRHC, expressed enthusiasm about Frazier joining the team, stating, “Melissa brings a strong background in family medicine, a passion for rural health, and a patient-centered approach that aligns beautifully with our mission. We’re thrilled to have her on board!”
With over 13 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, Frazier is committed to delivering compassionate and comprehensive care to her patients. Her philosophy centers around fostering long-term relationships and preventing illness, rather than merely responding to health crises. “I was drawn to becoming a nurse practitioner in family practice because I genuinely love the idea of being there for people throughout all stages of life. The focus on prevention excites me,” she remarked. “I believe some of the most powerful moments happen before a diagnosis—when we catch something early, make lifestyle changes together, or have open conversations about health goals.”
Frazier’s expertise extends to preventive care, chronic disease management, and various in-office procedures, such as joint injections and skin tag removals, alongside her proficiency in women’s health. She aims to empower her female patients through education and support, ensuring they receive the comprehensive care they deserve throughout all life stages.
Her qualifications also include being a certified provider for Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals, offering a range of services that emphasize hands-on, patient-focused care. Frazier’s appreciation for rural healthcare is a driving force in her practice, as she understands the unique challenges and opportunities present in these settings.
Frazier is not new to MRHC; she completed a clinical rotation at the facility during her training, which has given her valuable insight into the center’s operational ethos and community expectations. She looks forward to building her practice in Manning, tailored to the specific health needs of its residents.
Residing in Denison with her husband and their two children, Frazier enjoys outdoor activities, including hiking, as well as exploring local shops and cafes during her free time. With her addition to MRHC, the Manning community can anticipate enhanced access to quality healthcare services and a renewed focus on preventive health.
