The Women Artists of the West is celebrating its 54th year by partnering with the Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve for its 2024 Invitational Exhibition & Sale. From May 4 to August 4, the exhibit will showcase the work of 37 nationally award-winning artists.

Director Shiloh Thurman expressed excitement about hosting the Women Artists of the West’s Invitational, aiming to give recognition to talented women artists who are often underrepresented in the art world. The event will feature renowned artists such as Carol Amos, HR Kaiser, Margaret Drake, Addren Doss, Sherry Cobb-Kelleher, Leslie Kirchner, Vicki Pedersen, and Terri Wagner.

Visitors can participate in various activities surrounding the exhibition, including a public demonstration by selected artists and a panel discussion on trends in Western art collecting. Attendees will also have the opportunity to preview the artwork throughout the day.

The ticketed reception at 6 p.m. will mark the opening for purchasing artworks through set price bid boxes. Tickets and proxy bidding options can be arranged through the museum’s website. Any unsold art will remain available for purchase at the museum until the exhibition concludes on August 4.

To provide a sneak peek of the event, a catalog will be available on both the Women Artists of the West and Woolaroc Museum websites starting April 10. Additionally, previews of the artwork will be posted on the WAOW Facebook page to generate excitement for the exhibition.
