Finding Mindfulness at WPI: Join Us for Mindful Wednesdays and Thursdays
In today’s fast-paced world, many individuals are seeking effective ways to reduce stress and cultivate mindfulness in their daily lives. Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) recognizes this need and invites its community to participate in “Mindful Wednesdays” and “Mindful Thursdays.” These sessions are designed to foster a greater sense of well-being and provide a calm oasis in a busy academic environment.
The drop-in meditation sessions are open to all members of the WPI community, including students, faculty, and staff. Importantly, no previous experience is required to participate. Each session is led by a certified meditation instructor who provides guided meditations that cater to both novices and seasoned practitioners. This inclusive approach ensures that everyone can benefit from the mindfulness practices, allowing attendees to unwind and reconnect with themselves.
Mindful Thursdays take place from 2:15 PM to 2:35 PM at the Center for Well-Being in Daniels Hall, room 102E. For those who are unable to attend in person, a virtual option is available via Zoom at the following link: Join Zoom Session. This dual delivery format reflects WPI’s commitment to accessibility and community engagement, allowing participants to choose the format that suits them best.
In addition to the weekly meditation sessions, participants will receive a dedicated email each Friday titled “Mindfulness Tools To-Go.” This weekly communication will offer additional resources, including information about various meditative practices, inspiring poems shared during the sessions, and other mindful resources that enrich the participants’ journeys toward greater awareness and tranquility.
For any questions, suggestions, or further information regarding the Mindful Wednesdays and Mindful Thursdays sessions, community members are encouraged to reach out to Robin Benoit at rbenoit@wpi.edu.
The cultivation of mindfulness is an invaluable practice that promotes mental clarity and emotional well-being. WPI’s initiative to provide structured mindful moments reflects an understanding of the importance of self-care in education. By offering these resources, WPI endeavors to empower its community members to take charge of their mental health, fostering resilience and a sense of belonging within its vibrant academic environment.
