Queer film fans in New York, get ready for the upcoming Newfest Pride celebration! New York’s esteemed LGBTQ+ film and media organization is launching a 5-day festival at the SVA Theatre from May 30th to June 3rd, 2024, marking the fourth consecutive year of hosting the event.
The festival unveiled its complete lineup, featuring a diverse array of premieres, discussions, virtual screenings, and social gatherings for the community to enjoy. Attendees can anticipate a range of new film and TV premieres alongside screenings of beloved classics like ‘To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar.’
Newfest Executive Director David Hatkoff expressed, “It’s no coincidence that this year’s NewFest Pride kicks off on May 30th as part of our ongoing commitment to celebrate Pride every day of the year. We’re excited to create a space for the community to come together for exciting new films and series, engaging conversations, and joyful social interactions. This moment calls for both celebration and resistance, and we aim to offer opportunities for both in equal measure.”
Additionally, the festival will present highly anticipated feature films and series, such as the New York Premiere of the Fire Island documentary ‘A House is Not a Disco,’ the World Premiere of the psychological thriller ‘Haze,’ and the advanced screening of the Sundance favorite ‘My Old Ass.’
