Denise Schepici Concludes Tenure as President of Martha’s Vineyard Hospital and Windemere Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

Denise Schepici, the president of Martha’s Vineyard Hospital (MVH) and Windemere Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (WNR), is marking the end of her tenure after eight impactful years. In her farewell message, Schepici expressed profound gratitude to the island community, which has been a pillar of support throughout her leadership, as well as appreciation for her dedicated team of healthcare professionals.

Reflecting on her time with MVH and WNR, Schepici noted the challenges and triumphs that characterized her presidency. She emphasized the exceptional commitment of staff members—including doctors, nurses, and auxiliary teams—who daily provide compassionate care to patients and their families. “The love and dedication that form the bedrock of our service truly inspire me,” Schepici remarked, underscoring the hospital’s mission to deliver quality healthcare in a personal and empathetic environment.

Under Schepici’s leadership, MVH has not only maintained but also expanded its services to meet the health needs of the local community. She highlighted a significant achievement—the expansion of healthcare services on the island, which aims to minimize the need for patients to seek treatments off-island. Her administration successfully initiated plans for a state-of-the-art skilled nursing facility, alongside 48 new housing units designed for healthcare personnel. While she concludes her formal role, the outgoing president plans to remain an active member of the Martha’s Vineyard community. “Tony and I will continue to call the island home. This is not a goodbye—merely a ‘see you around the neighborhood,’” Schepici added.
