

Someburros Expands Its Footprint in Arizona with New Surprise Location Opening January 20, 2026
Someburros, a family-owned Mexican restaurant renowned for its authentic Sonoran-style cuisine, is set to inaugurate its first location in Surprise, Arizona. The restaurant will begin serving customers on January 20, 2026, at 16487 Cactus Road, strategically located near the intersection of Cactus Road and Loop 303. This opening holds special significance, as it coincides with a momentous milestone for the restaurant: the 40th anniversary of its establishment in the Valley.
Founded in 1986 by the Vasquez family, Someburros has earned a reputation for its commitment to using high-quality ingredients and traditional family recipes. Tim Vasquez, President and Owner of Someburros, expressed his enthusiasm in a recent statement. “For 40 years, our goal has been simple: to serve great food, treat people like family, and create a welcoming environment for all. Bringing Someburros to Surprise is especially meaningful for our family, and we are thrilled to introduce our Sonoran-style recipes and hospitality to our new neighbors.”
While the restaurant will commence operations on January 20, an official Grand Opening celebration is scheduled for February 21, 2026. This event aims to engage the Surprise community with a range of food and festivities, featuring live entertainment and interactive activities for families. The Grand Opening will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will include performances by a mariachi band from noon to 1 p.m., a meet-and-greet with the beloved restaurant mascot Nacho, and complimentary Someburros tumblers for the first 50 guests.
Guests visiting the new location can expect a menu focused on affordability and bold flavors, including signature burros and burritos priced under , along with combo meals that showcase the restaurant’s beloved dishes like Nana Isabel’s Green Chili Beef and the Pollo Fundido. A highlight for morning diners is the all-day breakfast menu, featuring breakfast burros and homestyle plates that cater to various tastes.
In a nod to modern convenience, the Surprise location will offer both dine-in and counter service, as well as a drive-thru for swift service. The establishment will also incorporate the Someburros Rewards App, allowing customers to place online orders, earn loyalty points, and access catering services effortlessly.
