Disney has announced its lineup for the 2024 Annecy Festival, which will feature a special 40th anniversary celebration of Disney Television Animation. The festival will run from June 9th through the 15th, and Disney will once again bring its magical animation to the event.
Walt Disney Animation Studios will showcase footage from “Moana 2” with director Dave Derrick Jr. and co-director Jason Hand. Pixar Animation Studios will screen “Inside Out 2” with director Kelsey Mann and producer Mark Nielsen introducing the film.
Attendees at the Annecy Festival will have the exclusive opportunity to see a work-in-progress preview of “The Doomies,” a spooky comedy from Disney Television Animation being produced by Xilam Animation Studio in France.
Additionally, 20th Television Animation will make its debut at the festival with a panel featuring the creative team behind “Bob’s Burgers,” and there will be a special presentation titled “40 Years of Disney Television Animation: Past, Present and Future,” which will delve into Disney’s TV animation history.
Other highlights of the festival include a panel on “Storytelling Through Music” and an outdoor screening of “Big City Greens the Movie: Spacecation,” which recently premiered on Disney Channel and Disney+.
Disney Legend Mark Henn will introduce a 30th-anniversary screening of “The Lion King,” which will also be shown for children at a local hospital.
