Tickets are now on sale for the Momentum Gala, the Tacoma Art Museum’s premier fundraising event. Scheduled for April 13 from 5-9 p.m. at the Tacoma Art Museum (TAM), this year’s gala will celebrate the arrival of spring – a season symbolizing renewal, hope, and inspiration.
Local humanitarian Kwabi Amoah-Forson, founder of The Peace Bus community programming, will serve as the emcee for the evening. Guests are encouraged to dress up for the occasion and indulge in a gourmet dinner provided by Table 47. The event will feature live and silent auctions showcasing extraordinary art pieces, experiences, and other surprises.
The TAM gala is a beloved annual event that typically draws over 200 attendees. Funds raised during the gala play a vital role in supporting community access to TAM’s diverse exhibitions and educational programs. These initiatives, which focus on Pacific Northwest creativity and innovation and include school tours and Studio & Storytime, play a crucial role in nurturing the local creative economy and inspiring people of all ages.
The gala is inspired by TAM’s latest exhibition, “Momentum: New Works in the Collection,” which highlights 40 of TAM’s recent acquisitions out of 382 pieces obtained over the last five years. These works not only demonstrate TAM’s commitment to representing regional art but also reflect the museum’s momentum towards a more inclusive collection. The “Momentum” exhibition will be on display until May 26, 2024.
For those interested in attending the Momentum Gala and obtaining more information, please visit the TAM website. Don’t miss this opportunity to support the arts and enjoy a memorable evening filled with art, culture, and community.
