Bronx Hip Hop legends KRS-One and Kurtis Blow were recognized for their iconic and pioneering careers at the National Hip Hop Museum Induction Ceremony. President Biden presented both living legends with Presidential Lifetime Achievement Awards in a special ceremony hosted at the RIAA’s Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Reverend Dr. George Holmes paid tribute to KRS-One and Kurtis Blow, stating, “The thermometer merely measures the climate, but the thermostat sets the tone and creates it. That’s who you are, KRS-One and Kurtis Blow.”

Although President Biden was unable to attend the event, a letter from the POTUS was read in front of more than 300 attendees, expressing gratitude for the honorees’ volunteer leadership. The letter emphasized the importance of unity and service to the country, urging KRS-One and Kurtis Blow to continue their invaluable contributions.

The ceremony highlighted the significant impact of these Hip Hop legends on not only the music industry but also on American culture as a whole. The recognition of KRS-One and Kurtis Blow serves as a reminder of the power of music to inspire and unite people from all walks of life.
