Meghan Markle, the former “Suits” star, is stepping into the new year with a fresh business venture. The 42-year-old unveiled her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, on Instagram recently. The brand’s bio reads, “By Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.”

Markle shared a video on her Instagram Story, showcasing herself picking flowers and cooking in a kitchen. The American Riviera Orchard website currently has a placeholder, prompting visitors to provide their email for updates on products and availability.

A trademark application indicates that the brand intends to sell an array of products including tableware, drinkware, kitchen linens, and edible treats like jellies, jams, marmalade, and spreads. The application is pending examination and also seeks approval for cookbooks.

This isn’t Markle’s first foray into the lifestyle sector. In 2014, she launched the lifestyle blog, The Tig, which offered recipes, travel tips, and personal photos documenting her adventures. Despite shutting down in 2017, the blog garnered a significant following.

Fans have already begun comparing American Riviera Orchard to The Tig, with some noting the distinctive calligraphy used in the brand’s font reminiscent of royal family styles.

Markle’s new business venture seems to be resonating with fans as ARO’s Instagram followers are rapidly growing. At the time of writing, the brand has amassed 26,200 followers without following any accounts.
