Shanghai Disney Resort and China Eastern Airlines have collaborated to bring the magic of Zootopia and the new themed land at Shanghai Disneyland to the skies with a uniquely designed aircraft. The Disney•Zootopia Express was unveiled following the opening of Zootopia at Shanghai Disneyland, becoming the sixth Disney-themed plane in China Eastern Airlines’ fleet.
The aircraft features a vibrant design showcasing beloved characters from the animated film, creating an immersive experience for passengers as they embark on an adventure to the mammalian metropolis. The unveiling ceremony took place at a specially-designed Zootopia-themed “airport” in Shanghai, where guests were treated to a sneak peek of the themed plane with the help of characters Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde.
Actress Wu Yanshu and musical actor Ayanga, known as “Honorary Zootizens,” were among the first guests to experience the themed interior of the Disney•Zootopia Express. The aircraft’s interior is adorned with themed elements, including luggage containers tailored for different-sized mammals and fold-out trays featuring a map of Zootopia.
Passengers departing from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport can enjoy additional surprises such as Zootopia-themed check-in counters and self-service kiosks. To extend the magic, Shanghai Disney Resort and China Eastern Airlines are offering a limited-time flight-hotel-park ticket promotion, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the world of Zootopia and Shanghai Disneyland.
Joe Schott, President and General Manager of Shanghai Disney Resort, expressed excitement about the collaboration with China Eastern Airlines, while Wan Qingchao, Executive Vice President of China Eastern Airlines Co., Ltd., highlighted the joy and positive experience that the Disney-themed aircraft bring to passengers.
