The Free Library of Philadelphia is set to host an event titled “Pride Month: How Science Fiction Dances to the Music of Time.” Renowned author Samuel R. Delany will be speaking with Music Department library trainee and Hollywood indie film composer Mark Inchoco about the connections between science fiction and music.

Attendees can expect to learn about the influence of great musicians, librettists, and musical events such as Cab Calloway, Pete Seeger, the Newport Folk Festival, Igor Stravinsky, Bob Dylan, Samuel Barber, Leontyne Price, and Macy Gray on Delany’s art and life. The event is scheduled for June 15, 2024, at Parkway Central Library in Philadelphia, PA.
