Singer and songwriter Morgan James will be headlining the 28th Annual June Jazz concert at Elmhurst University on Saturday, June 15. The event is free and open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets to enjoy the outdoor concert on the university’s arboretum campus starting at 6:30 p.m.

Morgan James, a New York-based soul singer, songwriter, and Broadway actress, has made a name for herself with her powerful vocals and captivating performances. With a classical music degree from The Juilliard School, James has gone on to release her own music and tour the world with her band and symphony orchestras. Her latest album, “Nobody’s Fool,” pays homage to ’90s R&B and has garnered praise from critics.

Joining James on stage will be the Elmhurst University Jazz Band, a group of talented musicians who have performed at prestigious festivals and events both nationally and internationally. The band’s accolades include winning the Student Music Award from DownBeat magazine in the Large Jazz Ensemble category for undergraduate institutions.
