The EU Delegation to the United States recently hosted the Euro Tech House at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas on March 10-11, 2024. Known as the largest festival in the United States, SXSW brings together the tech, digital, film, and music industries, attracting over 300,000 attendees each year.

The Euro Tech House saw a significant turnout with 2,338 visitors over the two-day event. The program featured panel sessions on various topics such as food sustainability, tech, AI, health, and music, along with VIP sessions, partner events, and a lineup of over 30 esteemed speakers and moderators. Additionally, attendees enjoyed music performances by bands from Spain, Hungary, Belgium, Germany, Italy, and Austria, as well as interactive experiences like the EU Food Cart, live cooking demos, and an AR virtual exhibition.

EU Executive Vice-President Margrethe Vestager made her fourth appearance at SXSW, earning recognition from the organizers as the first European inductee into the SXSW Hall of Fame and the first political figure on the list. Her participation in press engagements, stakeholder meetings, and a main stage event at SXSW elevated the visibility of the Euro Tech House.
